Celebrated Sports Advisor and Strategist, Hirav Shah is of the view that – COVID-19 pandemic has proven a nightmare for the businesses and has unleashed a series of unusual events affecting every industry. Complete lockdown is the least thing a business or industry would ever anticipate to deal with it. The situation becomes extremely difficult when operations are stalled at the peak of business season. While all businesses have been affected by loss of opportunities and financial stability during lockdown due to COVID-19, the sporting industry is among the worst hit.

Many sporting events across the world were affected, giving a major blow to ‘The Team Owners of Sports Leagues’ and ‘Heads Of Sporting Tournaments’. For Example, the pandemic had got the whole world of sporting to a stop, after its rapid spread so much so that, even the Tokyo 2020 Olympics got postponed to next year and will now take place from July 23 to August 8, 2021.

Likewise so many other significant tournaments, leagues and sporting events also got cancelled/postponed owing to the pandemic but first let’s talk about The Tokyo Olympics and then the rest.

1.Tokyo 2020 Olympics

Like we said, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics which was to take place this year was cancelled and postponed by the International Olympic Committee and Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
The decision was made after The International Olympic Committee came under increasing pressure from athletes, national Olympic bodies and sports federations.
The grandest and most significant event will now take place from July 23 to August 8, 2021.

2.Paralympics

The Paralympic Games are organized in parallel with the Olympic Games. It was not an easy decision to make, but it seemed wisest for the organising committee of the Paralympics to postpone and run it, now from August 24-September 5, 2021.

3.Cricket

Australia was supposed to host the men’s T20 World Cup this year but to all of our dismay, it was cancelled. However, the windows for the next three ICC men’s events were out in order to bring clarity to the calendar.
The best possible opportunity over the next three years, has been given to the sport to restore from the disruption, caused due to the pandemic.
The windows for the three major ICC men’s events are as follows:

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will be held October – November 2021 with the final on November 14, 2021

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 will be held October – November 2022 with the final on November 13, 2022

ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2023 will be held in India October – November 2023 with the final on November 16, 2023

4.Basketball

Basketball also faced an “unprecedented” test amidst a virus outbreak.

The organisers of EuroLeague Basketball had declared that- Europe’s top two club basketball competitions were terminated without even naming any winners.

“Having explored every possible option, the Executive Board has made the decision to cancel the 2019-20 EuroLeague and EuroCup,” the organising body said on its official Twitter account.

5.Tennis

Tennis events were heavily disrupted too this year. The Wimbledon Championships which is the oldest Grand Slam Tennis tournament, that was scheduled to take place from June 29 to July 12, was cancelled this year due to the novel virus.

This is the first time since World War II that it was called off.
Instead, the next edition of the tournament will be from June 28 to July 11, 2021.

Ray Of Hope

Sports Astrologer and Strategist Hirav Shah Opines, “Considered from almost any perspective, 2020 has been a dark and tumultuous year for international, high performance, sport.
The Olympics and Paralympics were shut down for the first time since the Second World War.
The avowed purpose of the Games, which is to gather people from every walk of life and myriad geographical locations, ran counter to the need to keep the planet’s population safe and healthy

Hirav Shah further adds-

During this challenging period most countries keep facing today, it was the duty of organisers, committee members, board, sports league owners and team owners to make conscious decisions in order to ensure the safety of all people involved in its events.
They have been closely monitoring the current situation and have tried so far to react accordingly in the best possible way”
But the most alarming thing comes here !!

Financially, this year is a write-off for owners of Sports Leagues, Sporting Teams and Organisers.
Not just financially but physically, resource-wise and technically too, Argues Shah.
Somewhere an effective and productive, “strategy and prediction” needs to be put in place so that the show-runners don’t have to again face the same fate !
In a nutshell, the only ray of hope for such a billion dollar enterprise is “Astro-Strategy”, says Shah

Final Thoughts: Sports Astrologer Hirav Shah’s Astro-Tools and Strategies to help struggling ventures, sports leagues and team owners, have been extraordinary and have resulted in their upliftment and smooth sailing by

1. Effective implementation of policies
2. Right Decision-Making pertaining to upcoming tournaments
3. Drive upward growth
4.Help them reach up to the next level

So, certainly there are a myriad ways by which Astro-Strategy can benefit the Big Sports League Owners, Team Owners, Organisers and Stakeholders, Concludes Shah.
