RRR Movie Review - Hirav Shah Reviews RRR Says Extremely Watchable

India’s top director SS Rajamouli’s prestigious project, RRR featuring NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, has hit the screens worldwide today.

Story of RRR :

Set in1920 time period in the pre-independence British era, to rescue a small girl who will be forcefully taken away by the British King and Queen ( roles played by Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody respectively), a man Komaram Bheem (NTR) from Adilabad tribal region lands in Delhi along with a couple of men. In the process, Bheem changes his identity as a Muslim guy Aktar and keeps waiting for the right opportunity to enter into the British kingdom in Delhi. On the other hand, a British policeman, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan), tries to prove his loyalty to the British government in every possible way. How will Ram and Bheem cross paths? How friendship blooms between them, and how the proceedings lead to, form the main crux.

Movie Analysis of RRR :

Hirav Shah says, “From the beginning, director Rajamouli who has been continuously tasting success by using emotional drama as the main USP for his movies, has failed to utilize the same secret for RRR as most of the film looks like a hero elevation more than scene establishment.”

Lack of commercial aspects like duets, breathtaking visuals are also a big minus for the film. Though most of the film runs on only the heroes, the audience feels that RRR has abundant repeat value and can be termed as a big plus for the film.

Critically, the film lacks proper flow in the narration in some parts, due to which most of the film looks like a split of episodes and action blocks. But Rajamouli keeps us engaged with his magic.”

On-Screen performances of RRR:

Hirav Shah says, “Both the stars, NTR and Ram Charan, gave their best for the film. Tarak’s transformation as a tribal guy in the rugged avatar is terrific, and Ram Charan just nailed it as a tough cop during the first half. His makeover as Alluri Seethaaramaraaju during the pre-climax portions is good.

Tarak, as an actor, shines yet again in his role, which is emotionally hard-hitting. His performance during the action sequences will attract moviegoers. Coming to Ram Charan, he gave a settled and composed acting throughout the film. Both the heroes worked hard on their physical transformation, which is visible on screen.

Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Shriya Saran, Ajay Devgn, and Rahul Ramakrishna are okay in their respective supporting roles. The director has not designed proper characters for Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, which may affect the film’s box office prospects in the Hindi market.”

Technical Crew of movie RRR :

Speaking about the technical aspects of the film Hirav Shah says, “MM Keeravani’s music suffers from a lack of freshness, but Naacho Naacho is a huge hit due to its spectacular choreography. Except for a couple of songs and background score in parts, the music department failed completely. Editing by A Sreekar Prasad is alright, but he would have chopped close to twenty minutes for a better viewing experience. While the dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra are okay, the production design by Sabu Cyril is fine. Production values by DVV Danayya are rich and lavish.

Last but not least, the direction of photography by KK Senthil Kumar is brilliant as the ace cinematographer showcased the entire film on a grander note. His framing captures the mood of the film in an effective manner.”

RRR Movie Final Verdict:

Hirav Shah concludes by saying, “In an overview, RRR is an extremely watchable pre-independence patriotic drama that has enough elevation episodes on both heroes to satisfy fans. On the other hand, lack of emotional connectivity and abruptly designing characters of Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn throws an impression that the film is made only for fans and mass audiences. As the film is carrying massive hype among the audience, it has fair chances to mint solid revenues at the box office during this weekend, and later word of mouth plays a prominent role. In the North also, the film will be a huge hit. Movie can cross the 1000cr BO collection.”
