KGF Chapter 2, featuring Kannada star Yash in the lead role, is running successfully at the worldwide box office. Along with Yash, this Prashanth Neel directional features Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, and Prakash Raj, among others, in key roles. This action drama was made on a budget of Rs 100 crores and has already crossed the Rs 1000 crore gross mark at the worldwide box office.

Popular Bollywood Analyst cum Business Transformation Expert Hirav Shah, “Merely four months into the year and Indian cinema, which was dominated by Bollywood a few years ago, is being rocked by three blockbusters, Pushpa 2, RRR, and KGF Chapter 2, featuring four superstars – Yash, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Allu Arjun.”

Shah adds, “Many reasons have been attributed to the success of the KGF series but at the core of it is the ability to be a mass product. For a while, there has been a significant interest in the south Indian films dubbed in Hindi, especially on satellite television on channels such as Star Gold and Zee Cinema. It has been ‘a process of habit creation,’ and that has seen a surge in viewership in Tier II and III cities. That with the fact these films have a lot of action and VFX makes it a good package for the masses.

Now, Hirav Shah takes a glance at the remuneration details of the star cast in KGF Chapter 2.

Prashanth Neel, behind the KGF universe, reportedly took home around Rs 15-20 crore as his remuneration for the film.

Hirav Shah concludes by saying, “The back-to-back phenomenal success of KGF: Chapter 2, RRR, and Pushpa seven years after the Telugu blockbuster Baahubali, clearly indicates language is no barrier anymore. In fact, it has certainly opened the doors for Indian cinema to reach out to a larger audience and has even given several filmmakers a new hope for exploring pan-Indian releases. South Indian films today have a reputation for providing wholesome entertainment and also being larger than life. That is where Bollywood has not lived up to expectations. They need to work towards a pan-India film instead of having a narrow approach for a limited audience.
