Most of you start the new year the same way — full of energy, excitement, and optimism.

You wake up January 1st reborn — eagerly welcoming the “new” opportunity to become the best version of yourselves. You start the year off strong, and attack your resolutions with energy, enthusiasm and focus. You vow to stick to your goals and make this year, “the year.”

After a few weeks of consistently following through on your resolutions, you fall into a rhythm.

You’re proud of yourselves for starting the year off hot and for staying consistent on your goals, but the excitement you initially had begins to fade- Opines Noted Business and Brand Transformation Expert, Hirav Shah.

As winter months turn to spring, keeping up with your resolutions begins to feel more and more like a chore.

You get complacent and feel as though you deserve a break from routine. You haven’t yet completed your goals in total, but you feel pretty good about what you have done so far and convince yourselves a break is just what you need.

You take a day or two off and expect to hop back into routine feeling ‘refreshed.’ Days turn to weeks then to months, and by the time December rolls around, you have all but forgotten about resolutions altogether.

This is the case with 95 percent of people, right..

What can all of you do so that in 2022, you stick to your resolutions !!

Lets see how to make your resolutions work this 2022.

1.By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail

Sounds super cliché !! But clichés only become such because they’re true.

Most of you walk into the new year with an idea of what you want to change about yourselves, or a rough outline as to what you want to do, but never seem to make a real plan before the new year commences.

Your goals are as ambitious as they are arbitrary. You tell yourself that you want to lose weight, write an ebook, eat healthier, make more money, but don’t come up with a detailed plan on how to do any of those things.

As a matter-of-fact, most of you don’t even define a real reason why when it comes to our resolutions.

Your failure comes down to lack of preparation. So, “prepare” !!

2. Plan, Plan & Plan

Take the last bit of 2021 to prepare for 2022. Plan out your resolutions in a systematic way.

Start by reflecting on the year that passed and decide what you’d like to change in the new year. Define why you’d like to accomplish resolutions X, Y and Z, and how you’re going to accomplish each. Set to-be-completed-by dates and work backwards from your end goals.

Without planning, your expectations are vague. Your initial excitement fades and you ultimately forget what you’re working towards.

If you develop a plan for each of your goals, you know exactly what your day-to-day will look like — there are no false expectations. And your overall enthusiasm will remain throughout the new year as you’re able to actively track your progress based on the plan you’ve designed.

3.Track Your Goals

Many of you fail to track your goals. Resolutions and habits take time.

While you are waiting for the long-term rewards of your efforts to accumulate, you need a reason to stick with it in the short-term.

Tracking goals is a great way to hold yourself accountable. Keep it simple and track things such as your daily food, monthly measurements, and weekly weight or anything else that you have planned like “making more money”.

Write everything down in an old fashioned notebook or use an app or spreadsheet. Do whatever, but track your damn goals.

Final Thoughts

Whether your goal is to be happier, healthier, wealthier, stronger, more successful or more fulfilled, to achieve those goals requires you to become someone who is different from who you are today.

You are allowed to dream but with a healthy dose of realism.
Understood !!

Lastly, base your goal on the positive – not what you’re staying away from…
