The upcoming big-budget Bollywood seems to have become more exciting post the pandemic era as the filmmakers are ready to roll in full power.

Celebrated Bollywood Astrologer cum Business Transformation Expert Hirav Shah says, “While the coronavirus pandemic continues to have a massive impact on the movie industry, Hollywood continues to press on in 2022. With that in mind, we look ahead to the films we expect to see gracing cineplex marquees in the coming year. And boy, do we have some great titles lined up, with superhero fare like Thor: Love and Thunder, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One); action and adventure with Uncharted and The Lost City; rousing family films like Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and The Bob’s Burgers Movie; and even some horror, with Scream and Halloween Ends. And Bollywood is also not far behind.”

Hirav Shah picks some of the massive budget Bollywood trilogies to watch in 2022, which are going to be a feast for moviegoers.

1. Brahmastra

Brahmastra is one of the most awaited movies in Bollywood. This trilogy film is being made with a staggering budget of over Rs 300 crore. In key roles, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, among others, Ranbir is playing the role of a modern-day version of lord Shiva. The first part of this trilogy, titled Shiva, is gearing up for a September 30th release in Hindi and all South languages simultaneously.

2. Shaktimaan

The Superhero of our childhood years is coming alive on the big screen. Being bankrolled by Sony Pictures, script work for the project is at the final stage. But, as per the Bollywood buzz, Ranveer Singh has a strong chance to play the titular role in the movie.

3. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

The brave and ferocious tale of a real-life superhero, Shivaji Maharaj, finally comes alive. Directed by Nagraj Manjule, the story will chronicle the brave life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and showcase how he established the Maratha Empire. The three-part series will have Riteish Deshmukh playing the titular role, and he himself is bankrolling it. Initially, the makers planned to make the film in Hindi and Marathi languages, but at the same time, they are open to exploring other languages as well. In one of his recent interviews, Ritesh Deshmukh said, “Once we make the film and if people think that we can take this film to other states, we will definitely try to do that. Because Shivaji Maharaj’s father (Shahaji Bhosle) used to live in Karnataka of the current times. And a lot of forts over there and a lot of the Telugu area was also under him Kingdom”.

4. Naagin

The title itself gives clarity that the film will be regarding sultry ‘naagin’. Star heroine Shraddha Kapoor is roped for the lead role in the film, and we can witness see her into a shape-shifting snake for her upcoming Nikhil Dwivedi’s Naagin trilogy. “I keep giving the example of Spider-Man, which is about a college-going boy who gets bitten by a spider and jumps from one building to another. We are equally ready for an ichchadhari naagin. It depends on how you want it to come on screen. Eventually, it is a fantasy. If a Spider-Man or a Superman can exist, so can a shape-shifting snake. Twilight is one of the most successful films; it is believable because we know it is a fantasy,” said the director in an interview.
