Starting his football career at the tender age of 16, Ronaldo signed with local club Nacional, and, after a title-winning campaign, he went on a three-day trial with Sporting CP where he got officially signed. It didn’t take him long to make his name recognized in the sports industry as he signed for Manchester United in 20o3, making him the first Portuguese player to play for Manchester United. He went on to become one of the most successful football players the world has ever seen, amassing a massive social media following of over 500 million followers. Now isn’t that crazy? What’s crazier is that it all started from a humble dwelling in Portugal.
Growing up, Ronaldo had never seen much money in his family. He had to share his bedroom with his three siblings. Even though Ronaldo had a keen love for football, he was diagnosed with a racing heart, a condition that might have forced him to give up playing football at the age of 15.
