We can’t control the world. We can only (barely) control our own reactions to it. Happiness is largely a choice, not a right or entitlement.
Happiness is your own state of mind. As in the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson:” A Man is what he thinks about all day long”.
The type and quality of thoughts you impregnate your mind with, you become and behave exactly like the thoughts.
Instead of cursing yourself, cursing God, being angry, depressed, jealous all day long, if we pray silently for a few minutes to God thanking him for what he has blessed us with, like-good health, good friends, good parents, etc we can feel the happiness inside us.
Sometimes we over-expect for something and when things don’t turn out according to our expectations, we get hurt. So first we should keep our expectations low.
Secondly, we should try to love everyone. For example, each morning when you see a sweeper in your street doing his work, just stop by for a moment and smile at him. You will see how happy he feels when someone smiles at him, and he gives back a wide, broad smile.
Try to spread love among everyone and you see how happy you become. Another effective way to be happy is to love ourselves. We shouldn’t be too hard on ourselves. If something is not happening according to our wishes, then it’s fine. Maybe it is not destined to happen.
Cursing yourself, feeling low will not help, rather add on to decrease your level of self-confidence. Just have enormous faith in God and assure yourself that everything happens for good and everything will happen for the good.
We are here for a very small span in this universe. Why not fill each moment with joy, peace, happiness?
On that note, Hirav Shah enlists the generalized habits of happy people below.
Habits Of Happy People:
1. Not showing off
“The better you feel about yourself, the less you feel the need to show off”
2. Laughing daily
A good laugh heals a lot of hurts, A good laugh is sunshine in the house
3. Ignoring nonsense
Other people’s judgments, Old troubles from the past, Each day’s little frustrations, Impatient thoughts, Unfounded fears
4. Talking less
Talk less. Listen more. Observe more.
5. Learning daily
Never stop learning because life doesn’t stop teaching.
6. Helping less fortunate
There are many less fortunate people in the world. You may want to extend your helping hand to them.
7. No entitlement
The enemy of happiness is entitlement. Don’t go around thinking the world owes you anything. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.
Lastly, Hirav Shah discloses the Mantra for happiness in 2022.
Mantra: There’s no mantra for happiness. You can’t expect that someone or something will make you happy.
Happiness is a feeling that you feel when you are peaceful and at ease. When you’re relaxed and enjoy that moment then anything you do or feel that time will bring a smile on your face.
For happiness, you don’t have to achieve anything big, you can find it in small things also.
Just take a deep breath. Calm down. Sit back. Relax. Feel the moment and observe things around you. Go out in the fresh air. See the marvelous gifts of nature.
Think of something which brings a smile on your face. A baby laughing you saw yesterday. Your pet. Imagine them and feel the happiness they bring to you.
That said, burdened with loss and grief again in 2021, with another variant of the virus spreading rapidly, you should hope to stay positive, look out for one another and try being optimistic and “HAPPY” in 2022- Concludes Hirav Shah, Famed Business Astrologer™, Business Enhancement Expert, Advisor, Strategist, Influencer and Entrepreneur.
