The role of luck in success enjoys no dearth of interest.
Michael Mauboussin and Nassim Taleb have suggested the victory of luck and opportunity over talent through their study. They believe that the movement of success can be tracked if one goes beyond personal characteristics like mindset, hard work, talent, etc.
Here is a look at some of the factors the researchers have pointed out.
- There is a lower number of CEOs born in June and July than in any other month.
- A person’s name or month of birth influences whether he or she can become a CEO or not.
Talent alone cannot take you to the zenith of success.
Luck plays a stronger role as not all talented people are successful.
Andrea Raspisarda and Alessandro Pluchino came together to conduct research in which they found that whenever an individual came across a lucky event, his/her success became double in proportion to their talent. On the contrary, on encountering an unlucky event, his/her success became half.
They also found out that those who had an average level of talent were more successful than the talented ones as the former were luckier.
People often ignore luck’s significance as they do not want to undermine the power of strong will, determination and intelligence. But, if you pay heed to the bells of opportunity, you will be able to make the most of your personal traits.
