Pros and Cons of reopening schools amid the pandemic which is still staring at us.

Hirav Shah recalls, “To “flatten the curve” of the COVID-19 pandemic, the lock-down was announced in March 2020, with the closure of schools, workplaces, sports, amusement parks, restaurants, and shops. Since then 8 months have passed, and the government is now insisting on reopening school to normalize the situation, in spite of a rising number of cases.”

Astro Facts

Astro Strategist Hirav Shah  explains …..

Planets influence various factors of education. Jupiter empowers interactions between teachers and classmates. This contributes to the social skills, overall confidence & emotional quotient (EQ) of a child.

‘Planet Venus inspires creativity, art, and entertainment. Venus has a stronger influence in the classroom environment, stimulating learning of new skills.’

When are schools reopening?

The Union government has permitted the reopening of schools in phases from October 15 and then November 23. However, the actual timing and manner of reopening will be decided by individual states.

This means what students actually experience will vary depending on where they go to school.

The Government of India had recently announced that the administration is thinking about the reopening of schools in the country from the last week of November for students of classes 9 to 12. After conducting a meeting, the government is seeking the opinions of parents and teachers regarding the same.

Astro Point of view for Reopening of Schools in 2020

As per Numerology, the Year 2020 adds up to the number 4 (2+0+2+0). Number 4 is ruled by the planet Rahu which is powerful and known to cause sudden changes in foundations and extensive effects through various fields like Education, Environment, etc. It is obvious that the transit of Jupiter on November 20, 2020, Saturn in Capricorn, Rahu in Taurus will lead to a plethora of effects on the Education System in the year 2021 says Business Astrologer Hirav Shah.

From November 23, 2020, to December 31, 2020, is good for extreme education but more preferable to a Hybrid kind of education.

Means 2020 seems very difficult for students as they may need to face more uncertainty of the health environment. Parents also may feel insecure to send their children to school.

The Education and Home Ministries have categorically said that students will not be forced to attend classes in school.

What would school life look like amid the pandemic?

Even if parents decide to send their children to school, they will not be going every day. Attendance could be rotational, on alternate days, or every two days.

In case of high enrolment numbers, schools can explore running in two shifts “by reducing the time duration of school hours per shift, such that the school is able to manage with the same set of teachers in the overall school hours”.

Astro Point of view for School Environment

Planet Jupiter influences student-student & teacher-student interactions and understanding. Mars influences electronics. According to Hirav Shah, the efficiency and power of interactions are greatly reduced when Jupiter is aligned with Mars, which is the case in Online Education.

Parents are concerned that the resumption of classes will lead to the spread of the virus.

Many stakeholders also cited the examples of Andhra Pradesh and Uttarakhand, where the schools were reopened and many teachers were tested Covid-19 positive in the next couple of days, even though proper precautions were taken on schools premises.

While parents are pushing for the conduction of classes through online mode till the time the Covid-19 pandemic situation is under control, some students are pushing for the reopening of schools in the state as they are experiencing a lot of academic loss.

Survey

Hirav Shah tells that according to a survey when parents were asked that if the Government does go ahead and announces the reopening of schools for senior classes and others thereafter, will they be sending their children/grandchildren to school.

To this, 62% outright said ‘no’, while only 23% answered ‘yes’. Around 15% of parents were undecided.

Hirav Shah says, “Without effective testing in schools, this will be a disaster waiting to happen. We have to anticipate further negative mental health effects from reopening schools too soon in the midst of rising coronavirus cases and surges in deaths.”

Hirav Shah adds, “It is also unlikely that this kind of school environment will be “normal” — sitting masked at a desk, facing forward, and unable to connect with peers or eating lunch indoors.”

Hirav Shah’s Astro Point of view for School reopening in 2021

Moon and Mercury are the planets of mind, thinking, and connection.

But Business Astrologer Hirav Shah feels very optimistic about 2021.

2021 adds to 5 which is ruled by Mercury, a planet of ups and downs but the good thing is Mercury is the planet of Knowledge so whoever will have the best will survive like anything. 2021 is the year for the Knowledge Industry, Educators, Students, and Knowledge Brokers.

So reopening of school in 2021, students will get huge benefits the same way parents and schools also will get benefits out of this.

As this pandemic can last for months together until a vaccine is invented or we reach a status of good herd immunity, we have to highlight the preventive measures.

Hirav Shah concludes by saying, “2021 will be the year of Education and Knowledge so don’t panic…Hopefully, all will be good in 2021.”
