Each and every day, we’re inundated with stories about how the world is going to hell. War, poverty, pollution… all manner of atrocities are flung at us from all directions, and it’s enough to draw even the most lighthearted person into a pit of despair.

Fortunately, a great way to counteract all that ugly is to be the change we want to see. None of us can change the entire world all by ourselves, but by making small amendments in our own lives and encouraging others to do the same, a snowball effect occurs that can affect the entire planet in time.

Hence,

The first and basic mantra to follow should be
To be happy with yourself first”, Says Hirav Shah, Celebrated Business Coach, Business Adviser, Entrepreneur & Strategist.

Then, try and make other people happy. A simple compassionate talk with someone is more than enough to make someone’s day. You do not have to solve their problems. Everyone is running, occupied and no one has time to slow down and even look at the person next to them.

Being in the moment and not losing a chance to be nice to someone, is good enough, Tells Shah.

1. You Don’t Need Some Kind Of Background

It’s critical to note that people who’ve made a real difference aren’t all privileged, advantaged or “special” by any stretch. Many come from disadvantaged families, crushing circumstances and initially limited capabilities, but have found ways to pick themselves up and rise above their circumstances (and their genes) to transform their own lives and those around them.

2. Dream Much Larger

Finally, the surest way to make a bigger positive impact in the world is to believe you can. Stop focusing only on the here and now and what you think is possible. Instead, take time every day (even if it’s only 5 minutes) to visualize who you want to be in the world, and how you can begin to make more of a difference (even if that is a tiny little sliver of an impact) in the areas that matter most to you as a person.

Dream and envision your version of heaven on earth, and take one small step to bring that closer to you. Understand that if you have a dream that won’t let go, you’re meant to pursue and explore that dream. Just getting on the path to researching and “trying it on” will change not only how you view yourself, but also allow new doors of opportunity to fly open because you finally believe that you can make a positive difference in the world, and in fact, the world needs you to.

3. Be Kind

Kindness is contagious. Kindness is eternal. The more you give kindness, the more you get and best of all, it never ever runs out.

That is such a comforting, wonderful thought, isn’t it?

In just a moment, by offering kindness, you can change someone’s whole day.

And in turn, that person can go on to change someone else’s day.

But sometimes as we go through the motions of our own lives, or when we are stressed and troubled, we can forget to be kind…
So, let go of stress and everything and be kind.

Kindness Is Like Watching The Sun Begin To Shine Through The Clouds After A Rainy Day.

4.Slow Down and Focus

It takes strength and bravery to choose the one or two projects that are most vital to your success and most essential to what you’re trying to do in the world, to make a profound impact.

Start choosing what matters most to you, and make those hard choices about what you’ll invest your time, money and energy on. Stop flitting around like a hummingbird. Slow down and focus. Pare down everything you’re trying to accomplish and select only those initiatives this year, that will honor and support your most compelling visions for making a positive impact for humanity and for the world.

5. Contribute To Economic Growth and Wealth Distribution

confidence

Humans are unique for our ability to cooperate in large groups of unrelated individuals. The various communities we are each part of are facing unprecedented rates of change that make collaboration more important than ever. The work required to manage this change successfully provides us each with countless ways to contribute, whether formal or informal. The skills we take for granted in our professional lives are in high demand among smaller businesses, startups, and not-for-profits – the pillars of any local community.

Consider these scenarios

The local farmers’ market is flailing in the face of eCommerce and falling Whole Foods prices – the management and vendors need someone with experiential marketing and pricing expertise to rejuvenate their business.

  • The corner nail salon offers excellent, and affordable, massages, but their advertising and design budgets can’t hold a candle to the fancy spa downtown.
  • Word of mouth recommendations or a group outing for friends or colleagues would give them a chance of survival.
  • Not-for-profits are often looking for new board members, or willing volunteers, especially those willing to listen to what is needed most and do that.

These simple engagement opportunities allow us to support local businesses and organizations, thereby contributing to economic growth and wealth distribution, as well as civic activity and trust.

Final Thoughts

Many people have made a true and measurable impact in the world, including well-known experts, authors, researchers, journalists, scientists, innovators, business geniuses, and entrepreneurs. But among this group of world influencers there are also everyday people who have found a special niche in which they’ve contributed at the highest level.

So, what are you waiting for…
It’s time for you to join the league, Hirav Shah Concludes…
