Kartik Aaryan Tiwari, born 22 November 1990, is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films. While pursuing an engineering degree in biotechnology, he dabbled in modeling and made attempts to start a career in film. After struggling for three years, he made his acting debut in 2011 with Pyaar Ka Punchnama, a buddy film about the romantic tribulations faced by three young men, which was directed by Luv Ranjan and co-starred Nushrat Bharucha.

Following a brief setback, Aaryan subsequently collaborated with Ranjan and Bharucha in two more buddy films, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015) and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), both of which were commercially successful but received criticism for their misogynistic themes. The latter proved to be a breakthrough for Aaryan, and he followed it by starring in the 2019 romantic comedies Luka Chuppi and Pati Patni Aur Woh.
In addition to his acting career, Aaryan endorses several brands and products and has co-hosted two award ceremonies. He appeared in Forbes India’s Forbes Celebrity 100 list of 2019.
In 2021, Aaryan will appear in Ram Madhvani’s Netflix thriller Dhamaka produced by Ronnie Screwvala as a journalist, and in Anees Bazmee’s horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Kiara Advani and Tabu. He has signed two films to be produced by Ekta Kapoor, Rohit Dhawan’s official adaptation of the 2020 Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo titled Shehzada, and Shashanka Ghosh’s romantic thriller Freddy. Aaryan is also committed to star in Om Raut’s yet-untitled 3D action film set in Hong Kong and will work under producer Sajid Nadiadwala for the first time in Marathi director Sameer Vidhwan’s epic musical love saga Satyanarayan Ki Katha. He will be teaming up with Screwvala for two more films, Vasan Bala’s yet-untitled superhero film based on Phantom and Hansal Mehta’s social drama, Captain India that will see him portraying an airforce officer.
